This Pumpkin Custard Tart is a delightful fusion of two beloved desserts—traditional pumpkin pie and Portugal’s famous Pastel de Nata. With its smooth, spiced pumpkin custard filling and the creamy richness of a Pastel de Nata, this tart brings together the best of both worlds. Instead of the typical pastry shell, it’s nestled in a buttery shortbread crust, adding a delicate crunch that perfectly complements the velvety filling. Whether for a holiday gathering or a cozy fall dessert, this unique tart offers a fresh twist on classic flavours with a nod to Portuguese tradition.

This Pumpkin Custard Tart is irresistibly delicious!

My Pumpkin Custard Tart is the perfect fall dessert for anyone looking to add a unique twist to their baking. Inspired by the classic Pastel de Nata, this tart features a caramelized, blistered top that adds a delightful texture and visual appeal, setting it apart from a traditional pumpkin pie. As it bakes, the high heat creates golden dark spots on the custard, adding a subtle toasty flavor that perfectly contrasts with the creamy, spiced pumpkin filling. The filling is made with smooth pumpkin purée, sweetened with sugar, and infused with warming spices like cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves for a cozy autumnal flavour. Paired with a buttery shortbread crust that adds a delicate crunch, every bite delivers the perfect balance of rich, sweet, and slightly smoky flavours.

This tart is more than just a dessert—it’s an experience that brings together the warmth of fall flavors with a hint of Portuguese tradition, making it a show-stopping addition to any holiday table. Perfect for special occasions or a cozy treat, it’s a must-try for the season.

Hope you enjoy it! xo
