Staycation at the Grand Hyatt in Jakarta

I was recently invited to partake on a ‘staycation’ at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Jakarta!

It was such an amazing feeling to not even leave the city, but still feel like I was off on a far away holiday!  This gorgeous 5 star hotel offers all of its’ guests many luxurious amenities, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Another bonus was the stunning view from our hotel room.. because it directly overlooked the city’s iconic Welcome Monument, right in the heart of downtown Jakarta. (Check out my time lapse video later in the post!)

Some of the things we enjoyed during our one night stay was swimming and relaxing by the lagoon themed pool area, going for dinner at Sushi Tei restaurant at the nearby Grand Indonesia Mall (It’s connected to the hotel, and is one of South East Asia’s largest shopping centres), having a delicious buffet breakfast at the Grand Café, and we also enjoyed relaxing in the room, accompanied with room service of course! We were treated like such VIPs, and overall I would definitely rate this stay a 10/10!

Here’s a night time lapse video I filmed from our room along with some other shots I posted on my personal Instagram!

Grand Hyatt Jakarta can be found at Jalan M. H. Thamrin Kav. 28-30, Jakarta, Indonesia. For more info, visit their website at to check availability and rates.

As always, thanks so much to everyone for reading! As for what’s next on my travel itinerary… in just over a week I will be going on a trip to Bandung, Indonesia. Following that trip, at the beginning of June I will be on my way to Australia! While there I will be visiting one of my good friends in Brisbane named Marnize who I met while living in North Vancouver last year- and we are also planning to go on a road trip to explore the Gold Coast! Finally, I will also be paying a 2 day visit to Sydney. Stay tuned for some adventure stories from the famous Down Under very soon!

I was welcomed as a guest at Grand Hyatt Jakarta but all opinions are my own. 🙂

Hi Jackie, I think of you often. I’m sure there are many untold stories . Your Dad said that you are stopping in Vancouver on the way home and I look forward to seeing you then. Watch out for that powerful sun in Australia ! Love, Grandma

When I lived in Jakarta, I used to love going to the Grand Hyatt for lunch over the weekend. I remember the food being so good here. The hotel looks super lux! It sounds like you had a wonderful trip – the views look amazing!

  7. That’s pretty nice, I wouldn’t mind having to hang around in that hotel! That lagoon pool is pretty nice, I’d like to float around there for a day! I’ve never been to Jakarta, but maybe one day.
