So last weekend I had the opportunity to go back to the city of red double decker busses and phone booths..London, UK!! 🙂 It was so awesome because my friend/best travel buddy Aranza had the same days off as me, so we got to adventure through yet another country together and it was such a blast!! Within two days we got to see almost all of London’s famous landmarks, and on Saturday I also got to meet my friend Johanna who I had met when I was in London back in October 🙂
We spent part of the day on a walking tour of London, also venturing off on our own to other places such as Platform 9 and 3/4s at Kings Cross Train Station, Brick Lane (a really great district for Indian food), and to West London where we got to watch “The Mousetrap”, London’s longest running show (where we were also able to score better seats than what we paid for!) In the evening we went souvenir shopping and ended up buying matching UK Flag tanks tops 😛
Busy streets…
On Saturday it ended up being such perfect weather outside, and I revisited a couple of the places from the day before, and also went to the National Gallery (where there were several impressive paintings by Monet, and also Van Gogh), and the Tate Modern Museum 🙂
All together.. the sights in London we saw: Platform 9 and 3/4s, Big Ben/ Houses of Parliament, The London Eye, The Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus, Oxford Street, New Bond Street, Buckingham Palace, The National Gallery, and the Tate Modern. More pictures from the trip can be viewed HERE. 🙂
So as for what’s next in the next couple weeks… Tomorrow I’m off to visit Amsterdam, and I plan on seeing as many friends as possible before I head back to Canada, and I just found out my mom is also coming to visit me in Germany for my last week here !! It will be so awesome getting to show her the city where I’ve been living, and we will also go on a day trip to Heidelberg before we fly back together out of Frankfurt. 🙂
